Software Settings for Overdrive Cancel Switch
The COMPUSHIFT can be is setting tells the COMPUSHIFT what type of switch to expect to engage and disengage the Electronic Overdrive function. The switch is usually located on top of the T-Bar handle with the label "Overdrive" or "O/Drive". There are two ways we can control this switch, toggle or momentary.
Toggle refers to the switch state where you toggle between the ON and OFF states. The switch will 'latch' into each state, and after each depress will 'toggle' the state of the switch.
Momentary means the switch rests in the OFF state, and during the depress will 'momentarily' change the state to ON. Releasing the switch will return the state back to OFF.
Values for this parameter are:
Momentary, Initially Off
The button does not latch and the Overdrive Cancel funtion is OFF when the vehicle starts.
Use this option to enable 4th gear by default when starting the vehicle.
Momentary, Initially On
The button does not latch and the Overdrive Cancel function is On when the vehicle starts.
Use this option if you wish to enable 4th gear manually after starting the vehicle.
Toggle
The botton latches and the Overdrive Cancel function will depend on the switch state being latched or not latched.
Overdrive Cancel LED
If your vehicle configuration does not have an existing Overdrive Cancel light that can be utilised, and you wish to have a visible indication of when the Overdrive is in the cancelled state, connect the Blue/White stripe wire labelled Overdrive Cancel LED to an LED light. This connection is very low current and will only support a 12v LED - halogen or incandescent bulbs are not supported for this connection.
Overdrive Switch Configuration in Standalone Shifter Setup
This is where the vehicle was built with a manual gearbox from the factory and you are converting the vehicle to operate with an automatic transmission using the COMPUSHIFT Transmission Controller or the OEM wiring has been removed from the vehicle. In this configuration, you do not have a dash cluster with the Overdrive Cancel light, therefore you will need to operate the Overdrive Cancel Switch as a standalone switch that is only connected to the COMPUSHIFT. In this situation, you can choose to run the switch as a toggle or a momentary setup.
There are two wires that run down the stalk of the T-Bar for the Overdrive Switch. Connect one of these wires to the COMPUSHIFT Overdrive Cancel Button (Blue/Yellow Stripe Wire). The other wire needs to be connected to a grounding point.
If you wish to run with the switch operating as a latching switch, then set the COMPUSHIFT to Toggle.
Alternatively you can modify the switch by removing the latching mechanism for the Overdrive Cancel switch and it will operate in a momentary way. Be sure to set the COMPUSHIFT to one of the Momentary options if you wish to run this configuration.

Overdrive Switch Configuration for Existing Automatic Vehicles
This is where the vehicle was built with an automatic transmission from factory and you are converting the engine or the engine control system to something other than the original and you need the COMPUSHIFT to run the existing automatic transmission.
In this situation, you have two options.
First option is to run the switch as per the standalone instructions above.
Second option is potentially available if your factory wiring is still in place for the OEM Overdrive Cancel Switch on the shifter to engage the Overdrive Cancel light on your dash cluster.
Please note that not all vehicles will allow this to happen, or possibly your overdrive light will constantly flash when connected. In which case you can try cutting the connection between the ECU and the Overdrive Cancel Switch but maintaining the connection to the clutster or you can follow standalone instructions above.
If your Overdrive Cancel light still works as normal, then you can splice into the Overdrive Cancel wire on the T-Bar with the Blue/Yellow Stripe wire from the COMPUSHIFT. This will detect the switching and trigger the COMPUSHIFT correctly while still maintaining the Overdrive Cancel notification light.
Connecting to Nissan Patrol GU Shifter with OEM Overdrive Cancel Indicator
Splice in the Blue/Yellow Stripe wire from the COMPUSHIFT Loom labelled Overdrive Cancel Switch into the Grey wire on the white connector as shown below. This wire is in the far left position of the connector. Do not cut the OEM wire.
Set the Overdrive Cancel Switch Action to Toggle
