Common questions with Ford E4OD transmissions - usually in Ford F-Trucks (80s- 90s).

Which E4OD transmission to use in the COMPUSHIFT.
The RABS versions are for when the speed sensor is in the rear axle of the vehicle and determine the speed sensor pulse count. This usually is reflected in the VSS loom supplied also (RABS = Rear Anti-Lock Braking System)

Then there is the Non-PWM and PWM variantion and is not easy to detect from outside.
Testing the TCC solenoid resistance at the CS3 main connector is usually the easiest and most definitive way.

Non-PWM TCC Solenoid: (ON/OFF solenoid)
Pin 24 Positive (Red Wire)
Pin 4 Negative (Green/White Wire)
Resistance of 15ohms approx

PWM Solenoid: (Pressure Control Solenoid)
Pin 23 Positive (Red Wire)
Pin 4 Negative (Green/White Wire)
Resistance of 2ohms approx
